Overview

Warung Tuman BSD offers an authentic taste of Indonesian culinary heritage nestled in the heart of Tangerang Selatan’s Serpong district. This restaurant thrives in a unique setting on Jl. Ciater Tengah, where rustic charm meets the embrace of a natural bamboo ecosystem, creating a cool and tranquil dining environment even during the midday heat.

The menu here is a thoughtful blend of regional flavors brought together by its owners, combining Minang and Javanese influences. Signature dishes like Telor Dadar Gaek, Pari ASAP Dendeng Batokok, and the Telur Dadar Krispi Nila Pisang Goreng exemplify this fusion. Traditional specialties such as Sayur Bunga Pepaya, Ayam Goreng, and Gulai Bareh provide a hearty, comforting experience. The smoked stingray, or Mangut Ikan Pari, stands out with its rich, smoky flavor—a definite highlight for lovers of classic Indonesian seafood. Accompanied by staples like Nasi Putih and complemented with unique snacks such as Otak Otak, each dish resonates with freshness and depth.

The spatial layout of Warung Tuman BSD mirrors a traditional village-style restaurant. Wooden and bamboo furnishings create a warm, organic atmosphere where families and friends can gather. The venue is spacious, accommodating over 200 guests, and thoughtfully designed to maintain cleanliness with separate restrooms and a designated smoking area. The natural bamboo canopy not only provides shade but also lends a sense of rural calm, enhancing the overall dining experience.

One of the more unconventional aspects of Warung Tuman BSD is its proximity to a local cemetery, which guests must pass through to enter. This unusual route is embraced as part of the restaurant’s rustic character, though it calls for a bit of cautious navigation, especially during late hours. Parking remains a common challenge due to narrow village roads and limited onsite space. Guests often rely on nearby village parking options, which involve a short walk and add a small layer of adventure to the visit.

Warung Tuman BSD caters mostly to those seeking authentic Indonesian cuisine in a setting that is both culturally rich and naturally beautiful. It appeals to families, groups of friends, and anyone interested in experiencing traditional flavors alongside a distinct village ambiance. While the food’s taste and freshness earn commendations, the venue’s relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere becomes a key part of the experience, making it more than just a meal but a cultural journey.

For those willing to embrace its quirks—from the walk past the cemetery to navigating parking—the restaurant promises genuine flavors, a welcoming staff, and a connection to Indonesia’s culinary tapestry that leaves a lasting impression.

came on saturday 1 pm, not too crowded I guess since many seats are available. finding car park would be quite challenging. its better to park by the street (5K IDR). or you can pass the small bridge and find closer parking space (10K IDR). for both options we still have to walk, passing the cemetery area. anw, I like the restaurant atmosphere. the owner is a couple, one from minang, one from jogja, that explains why the menu come from both.

It's located next to a local cemetery, but the atmosphere is so beautiful. The neatly arranged dishes bring a traditional "flavor" to both the vibes and the food. The mangut and nila dishes are a must-try, with reasonable prices when combined with the experience.

The food is okay. It's a mixture of Indonesian dishes (there's some very Javanese style chicken soup and Mangut Ikan Pari, but they also serve Dendeng and Telur Barendo (which is West Sumatra food). The food taste is good and fresh, with tahu mendoan and pisang goreng is exceptionally excellent. Didn't go there by myself because the hassle of looking for parking and the place.

Provides a great rural ambiance that transforms this location into a beautiful village. With traditional foods, beverages, and snacks. To go to this restaurant, we must cross through a public cemetery; unusual, certainly, but a little dangerous if it is late afternoon! So far, none of the dishes I've ordered have failed. For a family restaurant, it was reasonably priced, and I will surely return.

This is a still-popular traditional restaurant that is located in BSD area. The venue is a traditional Indonesian style village resto, with plenty of seating areas. I think it has a capacity of more than 200 people. The best think about this place is the fact that it is built under a large ecosystem of tall bamboo trees so that it is naturally cool and shady, even at noon time. The chairs and tables are made of wood and bamboo, but should be good enough for dining in and have a good chat with friends while enjoying some authentic traditional Indonesian-Javanese cuisine. The prices aren't cheap, but should worth the experience. The food taste is also standard, but I find the mangut stingray quite delicious. They have separate toilets for men and women, and they are kept quite clean. And they even have smoking area. The challenge for a new comer would be the parking lot, as the venue is locate in the middle of cemetery and local village, which access road is pretty small, not passable for cars, so you might need to park your car a little bit further from the venue. The villagers provides parking areas around the surrounding neighborhood, around 200 meters from the venue. Please note that the road to the parking area is also a village road, but if you are good at driving, big cars won't be a problems either. The people and surrounding area is quite safe and it is very common for car owners to park at the villagers lands.
